Bayview Farmer's Market
Rosie's Tucker Wagon

Aside from the name and the "Tasmanian Devil Crossing" signs in her food trailer, the only Australian thing about Rosie's food is Rosie. Her
potatoes are good "tucker" though, which is Australian for food. Rosie was born and raised in Tasmania - the island off the bottom of Australia, and her family has lived on South Whidbey for 10 years.

"Rosie's Potatoes" are fresh red potatoes sautéed in butter, olive oil, a little garlic and our secret sauce, with onions and ham and then melted cheddar cheese. Delicious! We also have our all-American, all beef kosher hot dogs.

Rosie's Tucker Wagon is a true family affair. Rosie's husband Lynn does set-up and break-down and is in charge of teaching the kids. Their oldest daughter Laura is almost 18 and she cooks the potatoes. She's the one who discovered the true magic of our special secret sauce. Erin is 16 and she dices the potatoes that have been previously boiled - her record is 100 lbs in one day! Jeffrey is 14 and he gophers and runs errands.

We love the fun, friendly atmosphere at the Bayview Farmers' Market. We have many good friends and people we laugh with, talk politics, reminisce with and admire their dogs (one of our favorite things about the market is watching all the dogs that walk by). It's a great way to spend time as a family. I love how that friendly, community feel is part of the atmosphere of Bayview Corner generally - we feel honored to be part of it all; feeding people good, healthy food.

One of our friends at the market is Pam Mitchell - the owner of "Tasbey Farm" organics. The display at Rosie's Tucker Wagon conveys the connection - her farm is at our place off Cultus Bay Rd. near Clinton, and the organic farm is part of our "Tasbey Farm Massage Retreat".

In Rosie's "real" life she is a licensed massage therapist with over 14 years experience in therapeutic massage. Her massage retreat is her version of the essence of self-care - being nurtured and pampered in a natural, peaceful, private and affordable environment. With a private outdoor soaking tub, kitchen and sitting room with fireplace, gardens and wildlife ponds Tasbey Farm is a true retreat from the world. Visit our web-site at www.tasbeyfarm.com or come and see us at Bayview Farmers' Market.
